This work is an act of selfless dedication by someone who found liberation through a prior form of labour, and it should be perceived as charity in the highest sense: an offering to all who have descended.
Through the poetry of Homer and Hesiod, the dialogues of Plato, the writings of the Neoplatonists, and the devotion of Thomas Taylor, it seeks to explore, appreciate, and deepen our understanding of the self.
Although scholars have achieved something magnificent in assembling the available texts into a coherent order, both historical and modern translations, as well as interpretative habits, have introduced additional barriers to knowledge. For this reason, this work aims to assist those who desire the path of Classical Philosophy by offering both enhanced and recensional translations of the texts.
The sequence of labour shall be:
Plato's Republic
a new English recensional translation
Plato's Phaedo
a new English recensional translation
The Orphic Initiations
an enhanced interpretation after Thomas Taylor
Plato's Timaeus
a new English recensional translation
Plato's Parmenides
a new English recensional translation
Homer's Iliad
a new English recensional translation
Homer's Odyssey
a new English recensional translation
